National Cancer Institute

This website will provide an overview of the various types of cancers and current information about treatments.

American Cancer Society

Since 1946, the American Cancer Society has been studying and funding research programs on cancer and has extensive wealth of knowledge with a support line built into their website.

Valley View Hospital/ Calaway-Young Cancer Center

For a local source of treatment and therapy, the Calaway-Young Cancer Center at Valley View Hospital may be able to provide services.

Mayo Clinic's traumatic brain injury website provides comprehensive information on helping someone with extensive brain injuries, which can lead to incapacity in the legal sense.

FINDING AN ATTORNEY AND OTHER LEGAL INFORMATION

FINDING ASSISTED LIVING OR NURSING HOMES

Provides an overview of the care available in CO. However, the default for “near you” are up to 65 miles, ranging from Eagle to Rifle (for Carbondale) and beyond. You can get information without giving your contact information by clicking on the link entitled, “No thanks. Just show me the facilities.”

FINDING HELP TO PAY FOR CARE

AARP does provide a lot of information on its website and has excellent articles on all aspects of aging. This page happens to have resources on caregiving financial help.

GOVERNMENT WEBSITES

Gives basic information specific to the State of Colorado. The location area agency for Garfield and Rio Blanco Counties, including Carbondale and Glenwood Springs, can be reached at 970-248-2717. The local area agency for Pitkin and Eagle Counties, including Aspen and Basalt, can be reached at 970-468-0295.
